Spirituality In Yoga, Christianity and Islam

Why do statistical studies indicate relatively high rates of suicide in rich countries? Why do humans enjoying the advances in knowledge and technology are more susceptible to neurosis, depression and other psychoses problems?

Scientific evidence suggests that believing in God is an innate inherited phenomenon in humans. It appears after birth and even before children are taught by their parents about God and religion.  Therefore, our souls innately know God and they are yearning to attach to Him.

Without spiritual nourishment, through the attachment to God, we suffer. This suffering may take different forms of neurosis, depression, psychosis and may even end up with suicides.

In this booklet, we briefly discuss three approaches to gain spirituality and nourish our souls. The first is the meditation and Yoga exercises which have been gaining worldwide popularity, particularly in Western countries. The second and third spiritual practices, which will be discussed, belong to the two major Abrahamic religions in the world; Islam and Christianity.

We aim by reviewing the spirituality of the most dominant spiritual approaches in the world to help to find which approach would lead to the real spirituality.
