One of the most remarkable aspects about the Qur’an is that it contains many verses which accurately describe natural phenomenon in various fields such as embryology, meteorology, astronomy, geology and oceanography. Scientists have found its descriptions incredibly accurate for a book dating back to the 7th century.

“We shall show them Our Signs in the Universe and within their own selves, until it becomes clear to them that this is the Truth.”Qur’an 41:53

Many of the scientific miracles mentioned in the Qur’an have been discovered only recently, through the modern advancement of technological equipment.

Consider the following:
*The Qur’an gives a detailed description of the development of the human embryo. These details were unknown to the scientific community until recent times.

These signs of God were clearly stated in the Qur’an more than 1400 years ago

Mountains

Have roots.

The highest point on Earth is in the Himalayas at Mount Everest 8.8 km high. It turned out that this mountain has roots about 250 km deep.

Subduction

The larger Asian plate forced the Indian plate deep into the mantle – a process called subduction – sinking it at least 155 miles (250 kilometers) down under the surface, a new study in the May edition of the journal Geology suggests. This plunge is double the depth of previous estimates.

This is correctly portrayed in the Quran by describing mountains as pegs:

Quran 78:7

And the mountains as pegs

٧ وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا

Pegs are used to fix tents… they have some parts above ground and other parts below ground. So the Quran correctly claims that mountains have parts below ground.

How could an illiterate man who lived 1400 years ago have known that mountains have roots?
