The mayor and mayoress of Blackburn with Darwen Cllr Hardman and Colette Hardman attended the launch event the Didsbury Street Mosque and thanked the group for their efforts.
“Well done to our Doorstep Sport+ Girls group who have raised the funds for the defibrillators,” Farhana Patel of the IMO charity said.
“We hope that they will save lives and help local residents in the time of need.
“This is our first defibrillator for the local community and we are looking forward to installing three more during the year with our partner Benefit Mankind.”
What the girls did falls in line with Islamic manners preserving human lives.
