A new digital platform that offers all pilgrims and visitors an easy-to-use planning gateway for their journeys to Makkah and Madinah has been launched to enhance the experience of Muslims visiting the holy cities.
Nusuk, launched on Monday in partnership with the Saudi Tourism Authority, will provide service across the Visit Saudi ecosystem, SPA said.
“Nusuk is a continuation of efforts to improve the quality of the services provided to pilgrims by using the latest technology,” the minister of Hajj and Umrah and chairman of the committee for the pilgrim experience program, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah said, Arabian Business reported.
The services offered by the platform includes facilitating visas, permits, booking processes, and procedures.
Easier Visits
Additionally, the digital platform will also offer various packages and programs to improve and enrich the experience of pilgrims.
“At a later stage, additional services such as interactive maps … will be available,” SPA said.
“The Maqam platform will continue to support Umrah Trip Program planning until its services are transferred to Nusuk,” SPA added.
The new platform is part of the Kingdom’s development plan 2024 to use modern technologies in the Two Holy Mosques.
Earlier this month, the Grand Mosque officially launched new robots that would recite the holy Qur’an, provide sermons and adhan.
Makkah’s Grand Mosque also introduced an electronic Qur’an to help blind and visually-impaired Muslims worshippers in December 2021.
