Volunteers Defy Cold for a Successful MAS-ICNA Convention

Hundreds of volunteers from all ages defied cold weather to ensure having a successful gathering for Muslims in the annual MAS-ICNA Convention at McCormick Place, Chicago, from Dec. 26-28, 2022.

The Muslim American Society and Islamic Circle of North America Convention is one of the largest Islamic conventions held annually in North America, Patch.com.

This year’s theme is “Islam & Modernity: Challenges & Opportunities.”

A galaxy of Muslim scholars participated in the event including, Yasir Qazi, Sheikh Umar Sulaiman, Imam Siraj Wahab, Oussama Jammal, Hadia Zarzour, Nihad Awad, Mir Rizwan Ali, Hatem Bazan, and others.

They all discussed the problems faced by the Muslim Ummah, especially the American Muslims, and their possible solutions in a total of 150 programs held on the topics of problems and challenges faced by Muslims.

The MAS and ICNA are religious and educational organizations that offer unique programs and services that seek to better the individual and in turn, the greater society by imparting Islamic knowledge and promoting community service.

Both Islamic organizations teamed up to produce two successful conventions every year: the MAS Convention in Chicago and the ICNA Convention in Baltimore, Maryland.
