Bolton Wanderers FC Hosts Ramadan Iftar
Giving Bolton fans a unique Ramadan experience, Bolton Wanderers FC are hosting an iftar event at the stadium today, April 11, welcoming guests of all faiths.
“We are hosting the event as part of our unity project, which is a community program focusing on cohesion,” a spokesman for the club told The Bolton News.
“The event was promoted and within less than 24 hours fully booked up. We are looking forward to putting this together.”

Ramadan is the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.
In Ramadan, adult Muslims, save the sick and those traveling, abstain from food, drink, smoking and sex between dawn and sunset.
Opening doors at 7pm, guests will listen to a short speech and a Quran recitation. After food, prayers will be held, giving attendants a chance to know more about Islam and Muslims.
The event is in partnership with Bolton Wanderers Football Club, Bolton Stadium Hotel and Bolton Wanderers in the Community.
Month of Sharing
A statement from the club said: “In the spirit of Ramadan, the month of hospitality and sharing, the stadium will host an Iftar, which is an evening of friendship and conversation across faiths and cultures, on Tuesday, April 11th.
“Learn about Ramadan and participate in or witness the Muslim call to prayer.
“We will also break the fast together with a delicious buffet.
“Join the celebrations at Bolton University Stadium from 7:00-10:00.”
Earlier in Ramadan, English Premier League club Aston Villa FC hosted an open iftar at Villa Park following similar event by Chelsea and Queen’s Park Rangers.
Also in the UK, English Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion hosted the first ever iftar at their home stadium or the Amex on March 27.
Open Iftar events are the flagship initiative of Ramadan Tent Project, an award-winning charity that brings communities together and spreads the spirit of Ramadan through various initiatives.
