Prophet’s Grand Mosque Gets Smart Air Freshener
Seeking to provide a healthy and safe environment for pilgrims and visitors, new air fresheners have been installed in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah to fill the air with fragrant aromas on the sidewalks and pathways frequently used by pilgrims.
The smart air fresheners, added by the Madinah Region Development Authority (MDA), are also placed in the seating areas near stores on the northern side leading to the mosque, Saudi Gazette reported.
In addition to fresheners, trees were planted alongside roads, benches and seating areas were provided, and sidewalks and pedestrian pathways were paved with non-heat absorbing marble.
At the same time, 245 umbrellas with misting fans cooling open spaces are spread across the northern, southern and western squares of the mosque.
Earlier this month, the Presidency of the Prophet’s Mosque announced that more than 4,252,000 have flocked to Madinah to pay homage to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during the period from Dhul Hijjah 7 to 14.
Visiting Madinah isn’t part of hajj or umrah rites, but the unique merits of the Prophet’s city, his Mosque, and his sacred tomb attract every pilgrim to visit it. There is no Ihram nor talbiyah for the visit to Madinah or the Prophet’s Mosque.
