This is the story of a 60-year-old man named Yousaf, who originally comes from L.A., and now lives in Dahab, Egypt.

He has a fascinating life story of traveling and living abroad since he was 7, and how he converted to Islam 15 years ago. Yousaf, who is a devout practicing Muslim, spends his days selling rice pudding on the streets of Dahab and is somewhat of a local celebrity in town. I will never forget my time spent with Yousaf — he is full of knowledge and it’s enlightening to be in his presence.
