Science in the Glorious Quran: Dogs’ Body Language – Panting
“His metaphor is that of a dog: if you chase it, it pants; and if you leave it alone, it pants. Such is the metaphor of the people who deny Our signs” (Qur’an, 7:176).
Because dogs don’t sweat the way humans do, panting is their way of cooling down their bodies. Therefore, it is normal for dogs to pant under different circumstances; when they are hot, in pain, excited, energetic, lazy, sad or happy. This behavior of a dog is like that of a person who took primarily a stand and would not see the signs of God or respond, whatever you do to draw his attention.
